What is Bon Magasinage?

Bon Magasinage is a platform where everyone can sort their closet or shop someone else’s. To make second-hand fashion accessible for everyone, we have developed a transactional website that allows you to sell and purchase in a secure way. 

If you’re lucky enough to live in the same town, you can finalise your sales by hand delivery. If you don’t, Canada Post will be in charge of shipping the item to you.

How to sell my clothes?

To sell your clothes, you need to create an account and add the details of the bank account you wish to receive the money for the items you sell. Afterwards, you’ll be able to click on the button that says “Create an ad” to start your adventure.

Can I sell as a bundle?

No, you can only add one item per ad. The shipping fees are linked to just one item per ad. Bundle ads will be automatically deleted.

How to determine my selling price?

On mid-range articles, the price is generally reduced by 50% of it’s purchase price. On high-end articles, the price can be set from -30% to -40% of their purchase price. In both cases, this will depend on the general condition of the garment.

How to present a garment?

The best way to present your garment is to take it on it’s best day, as if it was you wanting to purchase it. Ideally, you can post a picture of the front and back of the item and then you can add a picture of a cute little detail and of the garment worn by you. Bon Magasinage will be more than happy to publish your most beautiful pictures on our social media (this way, you will increase the chances of selling your garment!).

How does commission work at Bon Magasinage?

Bon Magasinage will take a 20% + Tax commission on your selling price (not including shipping fees). This commission is taken directly during the sale, the amount that will be deposited into your bank account will be therefore, the final amount with the commission already deducted.

What does this mean exactly?

For example: If you sell an item at $30, the amount that will be deposited to your bank account will be $23.10. Bon Magasinage’s commission will then be of $6 to which $0.90 are added. This represents the government tax and adds up to a total of $6.90 We explain everything with even more detail, just here.

What’s this commission for?

This commission taken by Bon Magasinage is quite valuable. It is the very reason behind Bon Magasinage’s existence. Thanks to it, we can invest on the platform’s developpement and create jobs at Bon Magasinage, in addition to regularly adding new features to the platform. 

When you submit your suggestions to us, we categorize and budget them. We then establish a reasonable project deadline and we start taking action, meaning, we’re here to make your dreams for Bon Magasinage come true 🙂

Can I buy on Bon Magasinage if I don’t have a credit card?

No, we are sorry but we only accept credit card payment!

What if the garment doesn’t suit me?

If you have chosen personal delivery, your money will be frozen for 7 days and it will not be validated until you communicate the purchase validation code to the seller. If the garment doesn’t suit you, you won’t need to communicate this code. You can instead contact us at and the money will be refunded within 5 to 10 business days. Please note that if the final purchase code is sent to the seller and that the payment has been validated, we will not be able to refund your order. 

For logistic reasons, if you chose shipping via Canada Post, there will be no return or refund possible. The purchases with postal delivery are final sales. However, if a garment does not suit you, you can contact us and we will be more than happy to help you re-sell it on our platform.  



On May 13th 201, there was an update of our payment system and payments are now directly debited. (Before they were pre-authorized).


When you reach 2 000$ CAD in sales, to comply with Canadian legislation, Stripe, our payment provider may require you to validate your identity by submitting your SIN and a photo ID in a secure and encrypted way.

Why do I need to enter my bank account information if I wish to publish an ad?

Because we will deposit the money of your sales to this account within 5 to 10 business days following the validation of the sale. If you do not have any news of your deposit after this time frame, you can contact us at, because there might be a problem with your bank account information.

Is it safe to share my bank account information in my Bon Magasinage’s account?

Absolutely! We work with Stripe for the money transfers. Stripe is one of the leaders in its field and it ensures the security of the payments and the complete confidentiality of your bank account information.

Where can I find my bank account information?

Your bank account details can be found on your sample check. The transit number and the institution number represent the first digits of your check. The following numbers are therefore,  your account number.
